Stop Motion Animation creations from the Coral Gables Art Cinema workshops

I spent the weekend working with kids age 6-15 in the creation of a series of stop motion animation shorts as part of the Coral Gables Art Cinema’s first annual Miami International Children’s Film Festival. We dived into principles of stop-motion animation, looking at examples in popular films, television series, music videos and internet-sourced animation made with stop motion. With in a couple hours we had created characters, plotted storylines and shot still footage using clay, food items, foam, cut and patterned paper and even live action.

Screen their creations below:

Kids Workshop
twenty kids, age 6-12, from all over South Florida using tons of colored paper, goldfish, gummy sharks, patterned and textured papers and foam, twizzlers, alphabet cereal, legos and other media.
